ArcWorlde is a game focused on telling a story and developing a narrative, working on creating a cooperative tale on the tabletop whilst also battling against one another. The focus is on using the tactical depth of the game in order to create a story that you'll be talking about with your friends for a long time to come.
ArcWorlde is a fantasy skirmish game where warbands, heroes and monsters are pitted against each other in the field of combat.
There are beasts to slay, treasures to discover, objectives to capture and rival Commanders to defeat. By using these rules, your imagination, and the wide range of ArcWorlde miniatures available, you and your friends can play out epic tales within the eponymous fantasy realm.
Players, it’s up to you – what adventures await you and your Warbands in this brave new world?
Halflings, Imperials, Wild Elves, Beastfolk, Ourks, Undead Raiders, Wizards and Dark Lords can be choosen as well as Grifflings and Troggles. And how about any sword for hire? Well choose your warband and start your adventure!

This then takes us nicely into another element of the rules which follows this same tone. Feats are a way for your characters to do daring and interesting things with your characters but, in a twist, they aren't written down for you already as in other games. Feats are as wild and interesting as you make them.
A game of ArcWorlde is based on the use of Action Points in order for you to attack your foes and cast spells for example but they are also used as the currency by which you enact your Feats.
For example, if you're controlling a mighty Troll and you want him to do a belly flop onto your enemies to try and crush a handful of them then you'd decide between you and your opponent(s) how many Action Points it costs but then also the difficulty of the test to perform it. This is the nice thing about this as both you and your opponent have to decide between yourselves if a Feat is doable, if it is in keeping with the spirit of the game and in the end how it comes to life in-game.
The idea here is that the Feats are not meant to be abused but instead used as a way of developing fascinating and dynamic moments during your games.
This is a nice freeform element to the game which might feel like a bit much to get your head around at first, especially if you've played a lot of existing skirmish games, but we think it really works with the whimsical and odd nature of ArcWorlde.
Beyond that ArcWorlde follows a lot of familiar paths when it comes to skirmish games. As mentioned before the game is focused around spending Action Points and it works nicely alongside the Alternative Activation turn sequence which keeps you invested at all times.
It also only requires a handful of models as well. At most you're probably going to have a band that numbers around six but it might be as few as one or two. This means that it's achievable to get the game to the table quickly! As a whole, ArcWorlde is character-focused and this is what we love when it comes to my skirmish games.
