They were raised in one of three ways, as members of a lord's household, as mercenaries, or levied from a town or the countryside. Many of the men were armed, had some training, and came from the upper peasantry, the tenant farmers who would have at one time had prior experience of a battle. This hard plastic box set allows you to build up to 24 levy with a wide variety of weapons, including spear, bow, club, sling, ax, sword, and a variety of farm implements as a last resort. SERVANTS OF WAR "Serjeant" taken from the Latin "serviens" meaning to serve, were the lower-ranking warriors of a lord's army. Whereas knights typically came from a noble background, the serjeants rose up through the ranks. Professional soldiers, they were well armed and armored and played a significant role in the armies of the time. This hard plastic box set allows you to build up to 24 serjeants with a wide variety of weapons, including falchion, spear, halberd, and crossbow.
