Hierdoor hoef je niet laag-op-laag te werken. Als je het op een extreem gladde ondergrond wilt aanbrengen, is het verstandig om die ondergrond een beetje op te ruwen met bijv schuurpapier. Het qraucelé effect wordt daardoor beter. Je kunt evt voor de zekerheid een matte primer gebruiken onder deze verf als je de ondergrond niet opgeruwd krijgt. Direct aanbrengen met een kwast en het dikte van aanbrengen bepaalt ook de diepte van de scheuren. Laat de verf natuurlijk drogen, luchtdrogend, en probeer het proces niet te versnellen met warmtebronnen. Het effect wordt dan namelijk minder.
